      Hey,

So if you think atoms as building blocks, say like lego blocks, then molecules are the things that we actually make out of the the lego.

And just like lego blocks come in lots of shapes and sizes and colours, you can have lots of different types of atoms.

So a molecule of water is made up of two hydrogen “blocks” or atoms and one atom of oxygen. All molecules will be made of different blocks of atoms.

Here’s a cool video all about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbbOBPfH_uk

      Hi,

Molecules are arrangements of atoms that are connected together.

If you imagine atoms as being letters, then molecules would be like words – the letters are connected together in an ordered way, just like atoms in a molecule.

Of course then you might make sentences from those words, and molecules can be arranged too to make more complicated things, like the cells in your body!
