      Hi,

So I tend to use devices and equipment that real patients would use. I’ve just done a research study using automatic blood pressure machines and mobile phones to measure peoples blood pressure whilst they are at home.

Other devices I use include one that measures the stiffness of your arteries and a machine that measures how much oxygen and carbon dioxide people are breathing when running on a treadmill (we use this a lot for elite athletes).

I also get doctors and patients to test medical apps on their smartphones to see if these are any good.

I’m currently involved in a study that uses a whole body scanner to scan peoples bodies to tell me how much bone, muscle and fat they have!

      Hey,

I have lots of different pieces of glass that can connect together and fill with chemicals for different chemical reaction set ups. This is the kind of equipment I use most often:

I also use a few big machines to help me work out the chemical structure of things – NMR machines full of really powerful magnets and a mass spectrometer that uses laser power to zap my chemicals.

I have a very powerful computer. That’s all I need (and of course, keyboard, mouse, and monitor)
